Scope of Work:
The project will consist of bus stop alterations including the lengthening of bus stops, addition and upgrading of amenities (shelters, benches, trash receptacles, and solar trash compactors), new bus stop signage, sidewalk widening and reconstruction, curb ramps, pavement markings, and traffic signal improvements and, at some locations, the elimination of bus stops. The work also consists of providing complete Pedal & Park structures, including concrete foundations, chain-link fencing, structural members, communications, electrical, security, CCTV, gate access control and other associated. Further work consists of installing bicycle canopies at 9 MBTA stations; the MBTA has purchased the canopies but each canopy requires a concrete foundation with pedestals on which to mount the canopies. Finally the project will consist of installing infrastructure for communications and electrical systems related to the installation of Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system fare vending machines various Stations. This work also includes installing infrastructure for communications and electrical systems related to the installation of the Electronic Bus Arrival Countdown systems.
