Scope of Work:
The work consists of replacing existing concrete ties with new timber ties; disposal of concrete ties; surface and align track; upgrade existing grade crossing surfaces on the Old Colony Commuter Rail Lines; and surface preparation and field painting of exposed surfaces for the Union Street Bridge will also be included. The limits of the tie replacement Work is summarized as follows: • Old Colony Main Line – approximately 4.1 miles of track extending from Boston to Braintree • Old Colony Plymouth Line – approximately 26.0 miles of track extending from Braintree to Plymouth • Old Colony Plymouth Line (Kingston Branch) – approximately 1.7 miles of track in Kingston • Old Colony Middleborough Line – approximately 25.1 miles of track extending from Braintree to Lakeville
